Why Kairos — and Why I Serve

If I’m honest, my path to prison ministry doesn’t make much sense on paper. I don’t have a personal connection to prison. I don’t know anyone incarcerated. I’d never been inside a prison, and no one in my family has walked that road.

 

And yet, despite all of that, I feel a clear and steady calling from God to serve here. I can’t point to a dramatic story or a personal history that led me to Kairos. However, what I can point to is obedience.

Over time, God placed prison ministry on my heart, and that calling hasn’t gone away. I serve with Kairos because I believe Christ goes where hope feels scarce, where grace feels undeserved, and where redemption is still very much possible. Kairos creates space for incarcerated men and women to encounter the unconditional love of Jesus — sometimes for the first time.I may not fully understand why God called me here, but I trust that He did. And I want to be faithful to that call.Your support makes it possible for this ministry to continue changing lives — inside prison walls and beyond them.
